Opened on July 4th, 1967, Battle Ground Golf club resides on 160 acres of property neighboring Prophetstown State Park. The track, initially designed by Robert Simmons, was the home of the Lafayette Country Club for nearly 50 years. Two decades ago, the course underwent a considerable renovation under the guidance of Tim Liddy.

Liddy is a world renowned golf course architect noted for his work in sustainability and minimal course cultural practices. Liddy designs properties to utilize less water and fewer chemicals which greatly benefit the natural areas surrounding a course.

Battle Ground is designed to be fair for every golfer, with wide bent grass fairways offering multiple target lines. Sizable greens and large surrounds allow an array of shots to be played from close range. Thick rough and strategically placed bunkers provide protection to the course from the longer hitters. Water comes in to play on three holes only, but requires the full attention of the golfer as they make their way through. The course has 5 sets of tees playing from 5100 yards in length at the front to almost 7100 at the back. The property also features a full practice facility that includes a putting green, a short game arena, and a practice tee equipped with 5 target greens.
